Just bought Assetto Corsa in the Steam summer sale. It's not bad at all. Looks nice. Cars easy to drive, like I'm driving with aids even though i'm not. I guess it's like Forsa for the PC ::).
AI not as good as rFactor2. Not tried it online yet.

Was a good time to buy as Snoopy a track modder just released another update to his Nords track yesterday (based on Com8's rfactor version), but this update he fixed most of the layout errors.

And today 6e660 posts they working on bringing the Targa Florio to Assetto Corsa

All looking good.

Cars easy to drive? lol I crashed 20 times when trying to drive the Ferrari 312 around Nords. Damn it feels really weird, like driving a boat. And everytime I loose grip in the rear and trying to countersteer, I steer too much and end up in the wall on the other side instead. It feels really wierd, you just have to countersteer like 1%. Car is extremely twitchy only when drifting. Nah... I don't think I have every played AC for more than 30 minutes (12h total)..

Only positive thing is that Nords looks very natural. And not much work has been done yet (?). I wish tracks 'automatically' looked that good in rf2 :p

I agree with DJC, cars are easy to drive but you still have to push to be fast. I like AC, I get great FPS and butter smooth gameplay with high to max settings. The canned FFB is, ehh but the dynamic feedback is good. The triple screen support is superb, ISI needs to copy AC here they have it nailed. AC MP is wrong right now, just wrong! The graphics are beautiful, but for some reason I find myself liking rf2's look more. I like the style ISI has, AC can look cartoonish sometimes like a codemasters game where as rf2 has a "sim look", if you know what I mean. Rf2 is top dawg nuff said, but AC does have its place and should be supported.

Not sure if I tried that Ferrari 312 yet. Car i found easy was the BMW M3 GT3. Driving it at Nords, trying to brake passed the 7 minute mark was fun. Ended up doing a 6:54.502 in the end. :)

AC is only up to version 0.2, so I'm guessing there is still much to come. Still not tried the online yet.

I think I see Paul Junior driving a racing car already? ;)

Yes nikos, that's me and my son in a skip @ lime rock park about a month ago. I almost signed up for there school right then and there but will put if off till next year, I have to wait wait $$$.

A little about the skip which you can't see in rf2 is that when setting in the tub the steering wheel is offset to the left about 1 inch to accommodate for the shifter, I noticed it immediately. It was a little odd but Im sure when your driving you won't notice it at all. When I pointed it out to the instructor (who had a big hand in writing Going Faster!) he said" oh yeah look at that, must be do to the shifter being so close" I can't wait to drive that car to compare to the sim car! Also you get to drive a Mazda MX5 as-well

sorry for the OT post.....

Looks like Historx mod may be changing to AC.

From Historx facebook page:

"Hi there!
after the video and these few screenshots we posted last week a lot of discussion from the community has followed. We're very happy to see the amazing support we still get, no matter if you think we're going to release the next mod for rFactor2, Assetto Corsa or both. So, thanks for that!
Having said that please note we haven't said we're moving from rF2 to AC. We haven't discarded choosing AC over rF2 either. At this point there's no final decision about what platform we're going to use. The thing is that it's not an easy decision and as a team we need to agree on that (and about a lot of other things). It's as simple as that
We have 4 cars on AC now. In rF2 there're way more (even a new working UI for this rF2 version was created back on 2012) but still nothing has been decided yet.
If you are familiar with our mod for rF1 you probably know that we don't release anything unless we think we've reached the highest quality level we can get at that point. We say this to make clear that you're not going to see anything coming from us any soon, no matter the sim you think about.
But to go back to what is important to clarify with this post: don't worry.. no matter the chosen platform/s or the focus of our next project we'll let you know with an official statement when the moment comes
Thanks once more for your continuous support!
Ps. Just in the case someone thinks we are just trying to create hype around us: let me tell you that all this started as a kind response to someone who wanted to see a specific car on AC"
